This feature is a monumental time-saver and guarantees consistent, perfectly creased wings for that desirable 3-dimensional effect.
I’ve already done the initial “hard” work for you by customizing this Butterfly File with scoring lines. However, Design Space empowers you with complete creative freedom. You can effortlessly duplicate butterflies to achieve the desired quantity, resize them to create a varied and dynamic visual display, and even experiment with different colors to match any nursery theme or personal preference. The possibilities are truly limitless, allowing you to personalize every aspect of your paper butterfly wall.
Cutting and Scoring with the Cricut Maker
Once your design is finalized in Cricut Design Space®, it’s time to unleash the power of the Cricut Maker. This incredible machine offers unmatched cutting performance and versatility, making complex projects like this a breeze. When you send your butterfly design to the Maker, the software will prompt you to insert the necessary tools. Initially, it might default to the Scoring Wheel, especially with newer updates, which is an advanced tool designed for even sharper creases.
However, if you’re using the Cricut® Tools Scoring Stylus, as I did for this project, simply navigate to “Edit Tools” on the right-hand side in step 2 of the cutting process. From there, you can easily select the Scoring Stylus. Even without the Scoring Wheel, the Stylus delivers perfect, precise score lines, ensuring your butterflies fold beautifully. I can personally attest that it worked flawlessly for every single butterfly!
The Cricut Maker’s compatibility with the innovative Scoring Wheel is a testament to its advanced engineering. Fast Mode isn’t just for cardstock; it significantly speeds up projects involving vinyl and even iron-on vinyl, dramatically reducing production time without compromising on quality.
The Cricut® Tools Scoring Stylus, which I employed for this project, is an integral part of the Maker’s revolutionary Adaptive Tool System™. This system represents a leap forward in professional-level cutting performance and expandability. Gone are the days of constantly switching out individual tools.
