Easter Basket Ideas for Toddlers
Skip the filler and build a better basket—these 25 Easter basket ideas for toddlers are fun, useful, and parent-approved. Growing up, I

Growing up, I always looked forward to waking up on Easter morning to see what the Easter Bunny had left in my basket. Somehow, the Easter Bunny always managed to find the cutest little trinkets, fun surprises, and of course, a little chocolate tucked in there too. Today, I’m sharing 25 Easter basket ideas for 1- and 2-year-olds to help you create that same magic for your little ones.
While older kids often end up with baskets filled to the brim with candy (I definitely did as I got older), filling a basket for a baby or toddler looks a little different. Candy isn’t really necessary—and for many parents, it’s not even an option. Instead, these early years are all about thoughtful, practical, and fun items your child can actually use and enjoy. Think toys that encourage learning and development, snacks they love, and everyday essentials that still feel special tucked inside an Easter basket.

Easter Basket Tips

- Wind-Up Toys – When my kids were toddlers they thought the wind-up chicks and bunnies were hilarious.. Most have little parts so make sure you are watching closely. Plus your toddler will need the help of an adult to wind them. These little toys can provide a lot of entertainment! I have found these very inexpensive at Hobby Lobby of all places.
- Easter board books – I find inexpensive board books at Marshal’s/TJ Maxx’s/HomeGoods. They don’t have to be Easter related but I like having holiday related books in the house.
- Plastic Eggs – I like to fill up plastic eggs with their favorite snacks! Think Annie’s Bunnies or small cracker snacks like that.
- Bath Toys – Bath time = built-in entertainment. Adding a few new bath toys like rubber duckies, cups, or squirt toys can make your toddler’s routine feel brand new again.
- Outdoor Toys – Spring is the perfect time to encourage outdoor play. Sidewalk chalk, bubbles, or a small ball are easy, affordable additions that toddlers will use right away.
- Sippy Cups & Utensils – It might sound practical (because it is), but a new colorful cup, snack container, or toddler-friendly utensils can feel like a treat for little ones.
- Stuffed Animals – You can never go wrong with a soft bunny or chick. It’s classic, cuddly, and often becomes a favorite companion.
- Teething Toys – If you still have a teething toddler, adding a new teether or sensory toy can be both fun and functional.
- Pajamas or Spring Outfits – I love adding a cute pair of spring jammies or a warm-weather outfit to their basket. It’s something they need anyway, but feels extra special coming from the Easter Bunny.
- Keep It Simple – Toddlers don’t need over-the-top baskets. A few thoughtful items go a long way, and honestly, they’ll probably be just as excited about the eggs and the experience as anything else.
I hope this helps gives you some easy ideas and ways to fill your toddlers Easter basket without having to give them candy this Easter season.
