The day has finally arrived, and our hearts are overflowing with joy as we officially share the news we’ve been eagerly guarding: we’re embarking on our most significant and heartwarming DIY project to date… we’re having a baby! This isn’t just a new craft or a home renovation; it’s the ultimate creation, a tiny human being who will soon join our family and change our lives forever. From Speculation to Sweet Reality: Our Pregnancy Journey So Far

For years, whenever we hinted at a big announcement, many of you lovely readers would playfully guess it was a baby. Well, this time, the rumors are gloriously true! We are thrilled to confirm that a little bundle of joy is genuinely on its way. I’ve officially stepped into my second trimester, and with this milestone, we finally feel confident and safe enough to shout it from the rooftops and share our news with the world.

Our journey to this announcement hasn’t been without its twists and turns. The first few months of pregnancy presented us with a unique set of challenges, some expected, others less so. An Unwavering Partner: Jon’s Incredible Support System

I cannot emphasize enough how truly invaluable Jon has been over these past few months. The saying “the tables have turned” has never felt more accurate in our household. What used to be my routine – making him a hearty breakfast every morning – has completely transformed. Now, I wake up to the delightful aroma of fresh fruit and yogurt, as he consistently prepares a delicious, healthy smoothie, ready for me before I even get out of bed! It’s these small, consistent acts of kindness that have made such a monumental difference during a time when my energy levels have been unpredictable.

Beyond the daily pampering, Jon has also heroically taken on the lion’s share of our ongoing kitchen revamp project. In fact, he’s completed about 90% of the work himself, a project that we are so excited to debut next month. A huge thank you also goes out to his wonderful friend, John, who stepped in to lend a helping hand when extra muscle and expertise were needed. So many elements of the DIY world, from strong chemical fumes to heavy lifting and prolonged standing, simply don’t agree with a pregnant woman. We’ve been super cautious, and Jon has graciously picked up all my slack, stepping into every role imaginable. I think he’s still trying to wrap his head around just how little I can physically do these days – oh, spray paint, how I miss thee! It’s a humorous yet challenging adjustment for us both, but his dedication has been nothing short of amazing.

These past few months have been a blur of extreme fatigue. Most days, my primary activity has revolved around sleeping – a lot! I’ve genuinely tried my very best to maintain content and engagement across both of our blogs without raising suspicion or giving away our big secret. One of the hardest adjustments has been slacking on our usual vibrant Halloween projects this year. As many of you know, autumn and Halloween are my absolute favorite time of year for crafting and decorating. The lack of energy has been a real bummer, preventing me from fully immersing myself in the spooky, creative spirit. However, I promise that over the next few weeks, I’ll be rallying my remaining energy to share a few fun, easy, and pregnancy-friendly Halloween projects that anyone can tackle. Think simple, charming, and still utterly festive – perfect for those days when you need a dose of creative joy without too much exertion.

March 26th: Our Due Date & The Anticipation of a Gender Reveal!

For those of you eagerly wondering about timelines, we are officially due on March 26th! The thought of meeting our little one in early spring fills us with an indescribable excitement. March feels like the perfect time for new beginnings, and we can’t wait to welcome our tiny sprout into the world.

But wait, there’s more! At the end of October, we will be finding out the gender of our baby, and we have big plans for a fun gender reveal party with our closest family and friends. Don’t worry, we won’t keep you in suspense for too long! We’ll be sure to announce what we’re having right here on Sew Woodsy shortly after our party. While we’re playfully speculating (the odds are definitely in favor of a boy, considering Jon’s side of the family seems to exclusively produce little gentlemen!), ultimately, our greatest wish and only true desire is for a healthy baby. Boy or girl, we simply cannot wait to hold our precious child in our arms.
